This is a "hit the ground running" BPMN book. Within a week, I was able to use BPMN without any previous knowledge. The writing is both learned and inviting, unusual combination for a translated work. I have been forced into process management through circumstances at work and was not looking forward to the field. But the crisp, no nonse honest writing has been a relief. It's NOT a fluff business jargon book, and technical people should find that a welcome change.
Really provides both and excellent summary coupled with lots of followup detail. Good for me as a manager to review and understand first few sections, and good to hand down to team responsible for implementation. We also used as foundation to put together summary for BPM roll out concept. Really all around pleased. Several of the examples have errors or switch terms (English edition), but this is first edition so I hope that they'll correct in next version.
In appropriate level of detail. Not just explained the syntax, but also how to apply BPMN practically with their own framework.
As a beginner in BPMN principles, I found this book VERY helpful. BUT:NOT for Kindle (PC app), the diagram images are practically UNREADABLE. Zoom feature is not supported, you will have to be in a distance closer than 5 cms in order to get an idea of what the diagram is about. That's the only reason I did not rate with 5 stars.
I think this is one of the best books that that covers most of the BPMN 2.0 aspects. Highly recommend this lovely piece of book for people who are willing to pass the OMG OCEB certification series as it will cover the whole BPMN part in the exam.
It is a great book about Business Process Model and Notation (process design). It presents the notation step-by-step in a easy way of learning and giving samples all the time. The book teach us to think and work with levels (camunda BPMN Framework): 1 - Strategic process model (overview & fast comprehension); 2 - Operational process model; 3 - Executable process model & IT Specification (technical details); 4 - Implementation.
I am in a process of conducting business process modeling and improvement. I find the book is very usual tool for a quick start to use BPMN 2.0 to describe the business model. I have been through 20% of book. The explanation on how to use different symbols is very nice. Also the example is simple but representative. I would like to recommend this book for anyone who is starting to use BPMN 2.0.
This is required reading for all of the managers in my company. A very practical way to document process flow. Depending on your background it is an easy read. The first 110 pages cover the basic shapes and connectors "or language" of BPMN along with explaining its origins.
