365 Sports Cars You Must Drive

Sports cars make up one of the most beloved automotive genres for car fans. From towering icons like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Corvette to everyman sportsters from Triumph, MG, Sunbeam, and Miata to oddballs like Crosley, Sabra, and DB, sports cars inspire passion and strong opinions as few other vehicles on the road could. This book, 365 Sports Cars You Must Drive, provides capsule overviews and fun facts about the greatest, oddest, most beautiful, and most ill-considered sports cars of all time. How many have you driven, dreamed about, or shuddered at the thought of?

This is a fun book. There is no great depth in the text explaining the photos but it is all about the pictures. I do offer a slight caveat. More than a few of the facts associated with the photos are incorrect. I noticed at least 6 errors without any need to double check. My theory is that most of the data were found using a simple web search and there was no effort to fact check. Some offenses are simply blatant. For example, the price of a current version Maserati Gran Turisimo is listed in what I can only assume as being in Australian dollars or a more direct offense is where an 8 cylinder Lamborgini Jalpa is listed as being a V10). That aside I find myself enjoying the photographs and making mental tick marks as to what cars I want in my garage some day.Even if you cannot read English (in which case you would not be reading this review) this book is a worthwhile and fun purchase for any petrol head if simply for the collection of photos.

This book is OK as a moderately interesting distraction (similar to magazines in the waiting room of a dentist's office), but it isn't for serious car enthusiasts. The book title refers to "sports cars", but the book does not limit itself to that category and attempts to cover touring cars, personal luxury cars, historic cars, etc. I think the title was very poorly chosen, because it also suggests that you might somehow have an opportunity to drive the cars listed inside. For most people, this is an absurd notion (given the entries on pre-war racing Alfas, the Ferrari 250 variants, and other inaccessible pieces of history.)When writing a book, I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to use Wikipedia as an authoritative source, but I suspect that the author was getting pressure from his publisher at some point to finish up: the Qvale Mangusta is a rather obscure car, and "365 Sports Cars You Must Drive" publishes a couple of facts about it that are even more obscure, and from a book on a different topic. I included these facts when I wrote the text for Wikipedia's article on the Mangusta, where they are now quickly and easily accessible. I would have preferred some original research (or at least research in other secondary sources), but I suspect that "365 Sports Cars" was just stretched too thin.

This is a good book. I like it not only because there's good information in it about different cars, but it also tells me how fast cars go that I have models of! For example, one of the cars you can find in this book is the Ferrari FXX. That one has a top speed of 243 mph! Another example: the Alpine-Renault A110, which has a top speed of 130 mph. Even if you can't afford even one of the cars in this book, think this: at least you can have good pictures/models of them. Also in this book is the Jaguar XJ220, whose top speed is 220 mph. You can also see the Bugatti Veyron--which has a top speed of 268 mph. And just so many more! A good book to have!

My teenage son is a huge fan of sports cars, especially Lamborghinis and such. He loves flipping through and deciding whether or not he agrees with the decisions made by the authors - and, for the most part, he does. This is a high-quality, truly beautiful book - with all the right cars to make a car-lover happy.

Bought for my nephew. He loved it. My kids love it too. Great for kids and adults. Great pics and descriptions of all sorts of cars.

Wow! This book has been so much fun for my 14-year old son to look at and read. He loves the pictures and dreams of the day he can really drive one of these cool cars. He loves it and shows it to everyone who also loves cars. If you love sports cars you will absolutely love this book.

Great photos of numerous high-end cars. The book contains various info about the cars. I have read other review(s) that claim the info is not entirely correct. That doesn't matter a whole lot to me...as long as it's close. I can do further research if I want particulars. The book is good to start conversations and gives you a good idea of what "dream" cars are out there.

My son loves this book - shows great pictures and gives all the stats like 0-60 in an east to read table so he can research and compare the different sports cars easily - keeps as a reference on his nightstand
