With a few illustrations of scary scenes such as the Egyptian plagues, Daniel’s friends in the fire, and a partial view of Jesus dying on the cross, children learn visually some of the stories in the Word of God. Using the New International Reader’s Version of the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testament stories are referenced. This reviewer wished all pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence.In this thick book that can be reproduced for classroom use, well-known stories of the Bible are given through black and white pictures, games, and puzzles. Starting with the Creation, iconic figures such as Noah, Moses, Gideon, David, Elijah, Peter, Paul, and John to name a few are mentioned. Focusing often on Jesus and His birth, death, and resurrection, His miracles are also depicted.Not told in a story format, one or two pages cover a topic. With the main purpose being activities, the choices are vast for a young artist. In addition to drawings to color, there are games of connecting the dots, finding, counting and circling specific items, working mazes, drawing additional objects, tracing alphabet letters and numbers, and selecting matching pictures.
