Having never taught reading strategies without a textbook, I needed a tool that would give me all of the skills and strategies students need, and that presented them in a clear fashion. I love that this book has day-by-day reading comprehension passages with questions, and a script for the teacher with the key points to stress whilst teaching the lesson. It is so well organized that even a reliever can teach reading lessons using this resource, and you can be certain that your students will grow in their reading skills.I have always been a fan of Evan-Moor products, but this one has saved me so much time while simultaneously providing the support for readers to become more effective and efficient in their reading. I think this would make a great gift for the new teacher just leaving University, or as a resource for the seasoned teacher to keep for ready-made substitute teacher lessons.
This workbook is perfect for morning work or homework. The week/day heading on the top of each day makes it easy for teachers and parents to recognize what day the worksheet was assigned. It is helpful that the company has leveled workbooks for each grade level, so if differentiation is necessary a teacher can supplement homework using a different grade workbook
I have used this book over and over with my coming-from-behind ninth graders. The passages are short, and we can practice reading and test-taking strategies.
This is good for practice. This book clearly gives the comprehension based on the topics. Very clear and learn to new words.
