This book is even more fun than you initial think it might be -- Not only does it provide sound, solid, carefully-incremental instructions on how to make lamps of the kind illustrated on the cover (and, equally as well, throughout the book) but it ALSO provides a wealth of information the kiln artist can utilize for putting together many other kinds of extra-thick glass projects that require long firing schedules. (The kind that should take two or three days of firing to achieve, that is.) You don't find this kind of information for long firings everywhere! The illustrations are very good. Additionally, the author shows how to take ordinary "store-bought" lamp fixtures of standard sizes and shapes -- and create your own designer fused glass panels for these -- which means you aren't required to buy fixtures from craft stores at their understandably higher prices. AND the author puts all of this in a form even a new, just-out-of-the-box novice kiln owner can beautifully undersand and utilize! GOOD BUY!
