I am a grown woman with two much younger sisters and this book is great! I only wish that they would publish it in American English as well. It was concise, easy to understand with small blurbs from other girls, and it didn’t overwhelm in the information that it gave. Honestly, I wish that I had this book when I was prepubescent because coming from a very religious household, many things weren’t told (or fully explained) to me like this book does. I often felt wrong or dirty for the things that I didn’t understand and I see the huge disservice done to me as a means of religious control. I’m gifting it to my little sisters and letting them know that I will always be around to talk and answer questions. When I gift it, though I’m going to give them a little list of translations for British English to American English so that they don’t get caught up on words like “loo,” “knickers,”, “rows,” etc.
I bought this book for my 10 year old daughter, and I loved it. Many of the books on puberty that I looked at went to deeply into the discussion about sex, but not this one. This book offered just the right amount of information about sex for what I felt was appropriate for a girl my daughter's age. The information about starting your period and growing up were spot on. The only thing with this book is that it is written in another country so my daughter had several questions about some of the words. Which in no way was any kind of problem, as they were just simple word's such as loo instead of bathroom, and knickers instead of panties or underwear. I highly recommend this book to parents for their daughter's. This book may also give boys some insight as to what girls go through.
The dialogue is British. I am going to have to explain all of those words before my daughter will be able to understand the purpose of the book. No where in the description was this mentioned. Very disappointing.
The book was very good and came at a very opportune time. I think what I liked most about it is that it deals with all the questions little girls beginning puberty would ask and it is written in a simple way that the young girls can understand. My daughter enjoyed the book very much and I still see her referring back to it since she read it the first time. I also particularly like the section "Fab fact or Rubbish rumour". The book demystified the whole concept of puberty in a very light and encouraging way that both young girls and mums can appreciate. Thank you to the author!
I have to rate this book a whole 5stars because it is the best way to give you the truth about life for girls. Don't ask me why I rate it 5stars!!!!!!!!!!! AGREED l think every girl should read this popular best book because it is true , that's a fact Jack !!! !!!!!
I bought the book for my 14 yr old Grandaughter to educate her of life 's events in her life at this age! I was very informed as a grandmother so I knew this was the right book for her!😋
I love that it teaches young ladies about things that will be useful in the future. And that it teaches girls that they shouldn'tbe embarrassed about changing. I loved it!
I got this book for my 10 year old daughter. I would suggest this book to those single fathers who are raising girls. My daughter feels much more ready for when that time comes for her to enter womanhood.
