The book is pretty decent in how it is written and the amount of topics but there are some areas that I found to be wrong compared to what is accepted as standards from Microsoft & Cisco and other networking bodies. The self-tests and the exams that is given from the instructor manual is very poorly written and many of the questions are so vague on what they are looking for that you have a very slim chance of guessing the correct answer and some of the answers that is in the instructor's manual for the self-test and exams are just plain wrong so if the instructor is not very knowledgeable in the subject (like mine was) the student suffers with a poor grade. Some of the topics covered in the book dealing with Operating Systems is pretty out of date. Some of the major changes between windows NT and 2000 are explained but in such a way that the reader comes out not knowing what is NT and what is 2000.If you want to learn networking concepts I suggest you look to another book that is more current with network technologies because this one falls flat.
