First of all, I've loved Jo's web pages on lacemaking. They're a wealth of lace knowledge. I'm so glad she decided to publish these books.I have an old Kindle keyboard and when I first downloaded this book I couldn't see any of the graphics. Found out that my software wasn't up to date. Once I updated everything showed up perfectly. So if the graphics aren't showing up, check the version of software...it should be 3.4 (as of the date of this post).Thanks, Jo!!! Looking forward to more publications.
Basic, down-to-earth recommendations and instructions. Verybeginner with no one around geographically to consult with, thisauthor was recommended on Pinterest. She "speaks" clearlyto the new student and diagrams are very clear.
This was the first book on the topic of bobbin lace I looked at. I have since looked at many more books and youtube videos. This will always have a place on my kindle. It is clearly written. It gets to the point. The author genuinely wants the reader to be able to learn and enjoy making bobbin lace. The only way to improve this is to give a short video showing the basics. These are available on YouTube. However, I would love to see this author do a video. I am grateful that Jo Edkins has written such an outstanding, no nonsense, get right into it book on bobbin lace.
"I Taught Myself To Bobbin Lace" would be a more appropriate title. It takes you from patterns with basic stitches to patterns and instructions on how to make more elaborate items.
Excellent instructions on learning how to make bobbin lace. I recommend this ebook to anyone wishing to learn. Very good instructions and very clear on my Kindle app.
