I HAVE READ ALMOST EVERY BOOK OUT THERE AND THIS ONE IS THE MOST PRECISE. SEE ONE OF THE LARGEST COLLECTIONS IN THE US. EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF BEING ABLE TO IDENTIFY AND PRICE ANY FIESTA WARE YOU COULD EVER FIND. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS BOOK
THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR IDENTIFYING ITEMS THEMSELVES. THE COLORS ARE NOT THE BEST IN THAT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO IDENTIFY MEDIUM GREEN, IT SHOWS UP DIFFERENT ON DIFFERENT PAGES. SAME FOR OTHER COLORS. BUT IT HAS BEEN GREAT HELP IN IDENTIFYING ITEMS THAT I HAVE. I RECOMMEND HAVING THIS BOOK ALONG WITH MAYBE ONE OTHER ONE TO HAVE A COMPLETE UNDERSTANDING OF FIESTA WARE.
The book gives a good overview of the Fiesta dinnerware line. It covers the first run of Fiesta and helps identify the vintage pieces from the new. It gives a brief overview of some of the other "Fiesta" lines and its changes up to 1972 when the original production run ended. The price lists given are not representative of the current selling prices which are much lower than what the book states. The book is full of photographs that help identify the pieces, but it does a poor job of representing the true colors of Fiesta.
There aren't a lot out there, but this book is a welcome addition to another book I have on Fiesta Ware. I love the clear identification guide to the types of pieces. The color guise is great and very helpful in trying to identify what I have.
This Fiesta book is great for new collectors and can be of great help to older collectors. It has great color pictures and fiesta color changes during the years as well as a great review of "fake Fiesta" items. Its not a "know all" book. But this is one of the best Ive used in many years.
Ordered this book to verify some of my pieces in order to sell them and it included great detail on the signatures on the underside of the pieces. It also covers specific glazes and production dates and was exactly what I needed. It a paperback, almost catalog style and has great images and information.
Wife loves it. It's a bit dated, as many new colors have come out since it's been printed, but its primary focus is on the older fiestaware. I'm not the primary user of this book, but my wife does seem to love it.
This is an exhaustive catalog of the Fiesta Dinnerware product, with photos, history, and identification of common and rare pieces. I purchased it for a friend, who is a collector of Fiestaware, and he loved it. Even though about 8 years since publication, it retains its usefulness and value.
