This is a very good basic microwave cookbook. There are select-a-size recipes--really nice for cooking for one. Very helpful chart clarifying the wattage of the various settings. What is meant by "high" or power level 10? She tells you what level settings translate into as wattage. This helps because different microwaves offer different wattage maximums. She explains how to adjust cook times if you have a different wattage from that used when writing the recipes. Since this book was written when microwaves were less powerful, the instructions enable me to continue to use the book even with a much more powerful machine. Lots of detail about using various utensils/cookware. I didn't need to use this book when I had a microwave with a sensor, but still referred to it for recipes and advice. Now that I temporarily have a non-sensor microwave, I've reverted to using this book again, especially for cooking vegetables. It enables me to get the same results as with a sensor! There are all the usual categories of recipes (including low-salt and low-calorie), plus chapters on defrosting, reheating, and menus. Note: A kitchen scale is a great help, as the recipes ingredients are sometimes in ounces (esp. veggies).
I've loved this cookbook since the '80's. When my daughters moved out they wanted to take my copy, so I fit them one of their own.
