Had to purchase for a summer college class. It is a ton to cover in 9 weeks (32 chapters and over 800+ pages) and I am not sure I will be ready to actually take the CompTIA A+ before the semester is over but it will be a great reference book for when I actually do. It is great as far as teaching you what will be covered on the exams and the terminology used. It was recommended by my professor who has been teaching this class for many years and he felt this is the best text out there for succeeding in passing the 220-801 and the 220-802 exams to be A+ certified.
I bought this book because it was a required textbook for my son's college A+ computer repair class. Very readable, even for a non-techie like myself with step by step instructions as to where to access utilities on any XP, Vista or Windows 7 operating system. Best of all--saved significant money compared to college bookstore price and received it quickly and in perfect condition using Supersaver shipping option.
I found this book and I was happy until open it. I think its the same book, but its like someone just photocopy the real color book and print out a white and black book and no CD on the back which was expected. Still happy just would like that was specified that was a copy from the real book.
If you get the opportunity get the teachers edition of this textbook. The structure of this book is poor. This edition seems to be all over the place and not well established. the book leaves some information ominous, forcing one to look elsewhere for answers or an explanation. This is more of a workbook as opposed to a insightful textbook.
Not worth the money. While it does have some great labs you can not get the answers unless you have an instructor book.
I really enjoyed this book. Very helpful and informative. I would suggest for anyone going to school or someone trying to past tests to get certified.
This book was OK. it's not as helpful not knowing what the answers to the questions are. If in the right setting you will flourish with this book.
Great-great-great book. Very thick, it meets or exceeds my expectations and seems well written andneasily understood. I havnt stopped reading it!
