This book has tons of real-world advice for repair technicians. There's even an entire chapter on grooming, professional behavior, and handling difficult customers. It's filled with great photographs that walk you through every step of repairing a computer.
Kudos to the authors. The lab manual was well written, has practical labs and information. Some of it come straight out of the text book but still appears like it is a good supplement. Covers windows 7 and older so look for the most recent edition
Much cheaper then purchasing the books at school. *** However please note, it does NOT come with the access code for you to access the practice labs online.***
Book needs editing. What is the definition of a transformer? Depends on where you look in the book. Doesn't mention USB or Firewire. Stick with Scott Mueller's book Upgrading and Repairing PC's.
School books are never exciting. but this book is ridiculously well made for when you have question or need to pass your PC A+ Certification this book has all you need.

Pretty big and hefty manual; good strong paper. Perforated on the inside edge, so you can tear the pages out if you want to.
This lab manual goes hand in hand with the Enhanced A+ Guide To Managing & Maintaining Your PC by Jean Andrews. The information is basic enough for a beginner to delve into the mysteries of the computer's innards. I'm currently using it in a college class as a back up to the text and find it very informative and helpful.
