This gorgeous book is an excellent follow-up to Lamotte's 2004 book Pure Sea Glass. While the first book is the pre-eminent identification, classification and history go-to sea glass guide, this new book shares the personal beachcombing journeys of sea glass collectors. The shared stories of falling in love with the hobby and discovering nature's gems during poignant life moments, along with the stunning photographs by Celia Pearson, make this book a joy to read and enjoy.
A truly beautiful book. Complemented by Celia Pearson's photography masterpieces, Richard shares lovely quotes, heartwarming stories told to him by fellow sea glassers, collections by region, some amazing history and some especially unique types of Seaglass. Having been privileged to meet Richard at the 2013 North American Seaglass Festival, it is easy to understand why so many would tell this warm, respectful man their special stories and share their collections with him. What a joy that he has shared them with us.
This book was given as a gift. The gentleman I gave it to walks the beach as much as I do to find beach treasures & found the book to be very interesting & beautiful pictures! Great book.
Wonderful book!
Richard Lamotte hits it out of the ballpark again!!His first book Pure Sea Glass is the 'bible"of the hobby and this book is just as good.Part of the book is composed of stories about healing when walking the beach. They are very well written,as are several poems on the topic. The pictures are beautiful and it is a book to linger over. This is not a book to sit on a coffee table, this is a book to read and cherish.
