Fenton Art Glass Company began producing Hobnail items in several shapes as special orders for other companies during the 1930s. The pattern seemed popular, so Hobnail was introduced into the Fenton general line in opalescent colors in 1940. Since that time Hobnail has been made in many colors and shapes. To date, there has been no single reference that combines all of Fenton's Hobnail production - until now! All shapes and colors of the entire Fenton Hobnail production from the late 1930s to the present are covered in Fenton Art Glass Hobnail Patterns. This book groups similar items by category, such as baskets, bowls, candles, lamps, pitchers, vases, and vanity items. Pieces from the Fenton general line, as well as special order items for entities like the Fenton Gift Shop, Levay Distributing, and QVC are included. Each piece is described, priced, and dated. Photographs showing at least one color of each shape are included. The book describes over 400 shapes of Hobnail items, many in numerous colors, and includes over 600 photographs. It's a must-have for Fenton collectors everywhere, and a perfect companion to the Whitmyers' other Fenton titles.

This is a well organized book by the Whitmyers. This time they are right on the money. Excellent historical information on production and itemized inventory of pieces by shape and size. Looking for a vase? Look under vase - how novel. Very well done; photos are good. Book Values seem about right. Well worth the money.
Even thought this book is a few years old it is perfect for what I intended to use it for. I needed ballpark figures and this is just the one for that. The pictures and descriptions are precise.Glad I picked it up!
