I had a chance to sit down and really pour over my copy last night and it is a gorgeous book and I love the way it is set up for an entire party in each section. If you haven't picked one up yet I highly highly recommend it. It will be my "go to" gift this holiday season. Annette can't even imagine how over the moon you must be to see all of your amazing ideas in such a beautiful bound package.
So it's not just that you want to throw them, but you want to throw them with grace and aplomb? This is probably the book for you. This book is really focused on the guests, as it should be: how to make them feel comfortable, fold them into conversation, and feed them right. If you develop a web of fantastic friendships, you can't just entertain. You have to *involve* the guests! Because, in the end, I think we all want to find ourselves in the middle of a circle of fabulous friends, any of whom might be, at any given moment, throwing the most beautiful, grandiose, memorable panties ever.
Picture Perfect Parties is full of fresh ideas for the kinds of parties that your guests can't stop gushing over. It's like the pinterest page of some impossibly chic person come to life. Try not to be mad at your guests for all being on their phones because they're just clogging the instagram feed with photos of your party #nofilter.
I love the recipes and all the place setting and decorating ideas. I bought one as a gift because it is such a good book.I had I hoped for more simple ideas on decorating a table but there were enough.I tried the the lemoncello dessert and it was excellent.
Absolutely adore this book. It's not only beautiful and inspiring to look at but the ideas and recipes are simple enough to actually do. Even if you do just one small element from a party plan, that would be enough to make your party special. This is sure to be my favorite party book ever. I can't wait to get started.
Absolutely beautiful to look at, easy to follow recipes and I love that Ms.Joseph focuses on foods to make in advance--so you can actually have time to spend with your guests. A perfect and very stylish book for the holidays.
I'd give this book a 3 star rating. Very rustic in ideas which I like. Recipes are very basic not special. What I like most is how the food is displayed in different rustic containers. You need a lot of them in your pantry. Doesn't do much with flowers. Doesn't really show finish tables for a party. You get some ideas but not much.
I always balk at entertaining because it simply seems too overwhelming, but this book really breaks it down line by line. The only problem is that the pictures are so beautiful I have trouble focusing on the tips! Oh well, guess I'll just have to read it again ... and again ...
