The book is an easy afternoon read with nice photos. If you are looking for a simple plan and overview this is the book for you. If however you are really wanting to explore the topic in detail, this isn't it.
Want to grow grapes. . . this book will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. Even if you don't want to make wine, but want some grapes for eating. . . this is a fabulous comprehensive book for ALL aspects of gardening with grapes. I never planed on planting grapes, but now I want to!

An easy to understand, give it to me in a nutshell guide to growing grapes. It motivated me to order 30 rootstocks.
As someone who loves gardening and would love to have a few rows of vines planted in the future I found this to be a great book to use as a reference to get started. I think it would be especially helpful to me as both the author and I are located in the Bay Area so some of his specific examples and recommendations are already tailored to my climate. I was appreciative that he stayed on topic throughout the book and didn't try and delve into other aspects of gardening or wine making that weren't specifically applicable to growing grapes.
Really good info. Covers all the areas of grape growing and then some. I recommend this book. The only drawback is it is not up to date enough to cover the latest varieties of wine grapes like Marquette, La Crescent, etc. Hopefully the writers will publish a new edition. Great book!
Appears to be a very complete book on Vineyards, it seems to be right on the information. I am intending to start a vineyard this next year, so I have purchased two other books on the subject and glean the collective information from all three. Ask me again in four years, I'll either praise it or burn it by then.
This book in very concise and informative. It shares info on many different varieties and very specific info on areas of growing and the cultural aspects of vinting and developing a high quality product, which is such a very important aspect of being a vintner.
