My 1-year old LOVES this book! Be prepared to read it more than once in a sitting! The illustrations are beautiful, and Todd Parr expresses that daddies can do anything, even stereotypical motherly duties!!!
We are huge Todd Parr fans in our house and The Daddy Book, which we bought for Father's Day last year, did not disappoint. Number one reason we like this book: the illustrations. Number two: Todd Parr is super-inclusive! Every kind of family and every kind of daddy is in this book!Simple but brilliant!
This book is fabulous. My 13 month old loves this book! When he doesn't want to be in his playpen, I just read him the book and he stops crying and points to the pictures. He loves all the pages but you really get his attention when it comes to: "Some Daddies have little hair..."It's the best book I have ever bought at an airport. I'm buying another set here at since it's pretty torn up now...and I want to make sure my next child would get a chance to see read the book too..We also have the Mommy Book...
Love this whole series by Todd Parr-- they encourage children both better understand traditional and non-traditional dads and to foster open communication about their relationship with fathers and father-figures in their life. Ideal for families where dad travels.
Every book Todd Parr has done should be on a must-read list for parents and kids. He brightly colored illustrations are hilarious and are a big hit with kids. If you ever get the chance to meet Todd at a book signing, make sure you take the kid, he is wonderful! All of his books give very positive messages to kids and are lots of fun! This book, in particular, makes a great gift for any dad or granddad.
My daughter loves all of the Todd Parr books. She has Down Syndrome, and she loves to read and copy the pictures. The pictures are easy to look at and copy, and she makes her own little "books". She wants all of the Todd Parr books eventually! I would recommend these books to any young child, and any child with Autism or Down Syndrome, as they are very easy to read, and keep their interest.
My husband had been complaining that all the books we ready only had mommy in them. My 14 month old loves everything Todd Parr so when I bought my daughter this book it was also like a gift to my husband. They love reading it together and he acts out all the parts for her and makes side comments on which daddy he is.
Todd Parr writes the best books for little kids! They are fun for the children and entertaining for grownups to read - I love them all!!!!!!!!!!!
