This book is excellent. My ESL students love it! They like the rhyming, colorful illustrations, and the ability to easily comprehend the story. All of her books are "Best practice Blue ribbon" I love watching my students read them to each other. They always want to take them home for rereading.
I love all the Natasha Wing "Night Before" books and this one is no exception. My focus is reading to Kindergarten children and they love these books. They wanted to know if there was one for Valentine's Day, for St. Patrick's Day, Easter, etc. and, yes there is. I highly recommend these books.
My three year old granddaughter was born on New Year's Eve, so this book really helped her to understand what all the "excitment" is about on her birthday! I love all the Natasha Wing books, but this one is my favorite!
Have been collecting the Night Before books by Natasha Wing, so far we have Halloween, Thanksgiving, and now New Years. This is a fantastic book, it gave my son a better understanding of what new years is and the celebration that occurs at the end of the year.
My daughter (3) loves her books and truthfully, I don't mind reading them all the time to her. Some parts are cute, ALTHOUGH, in the 4 books we have of hers, some parts are a little uncreative and it annoys me a little bit. :) But, we'll keep buying them!
My grandchildren enjoy Natasha Wing's "The Night Before..." series. They are an enjoyable addition to holidays, etc. - and add fun to the targeted occasion. This one is especially appreciated - as it includes children in what is seldom considered a child's holiday. Thanks Ms. Wing!
I bought this to read at a library story time. It's not brilliant and sometimes the rhymes feel a little forced, but it covers the bases on how many people celebrate the coming of the New Year. Not my favorite, but it did the trick!
Bought this to read to a group of 4-6 year olds that I volunteer with. They absolutely loved the story and the pictures. It was a great way of explaining certain things, and we were able to transition from this into the activities we had planned. Definitely recommend it.
