This is a great collection of material from the nearly 100 years of Boys Life.If there is any complaint, its that its too short. I wish this book was twice the size.Heck, what I'd like to see is a full set of Boys Life on DVD. Its unfortunate that scouters today can't use the materials in Boys Life. Lot of good stuff that's still useful.
This book is a collection of articles that have been published over the years in Boys' Life. The book is organized by topic and then vaguely chronologically within each topic. Many years are not included and other years are over-represented. Definitely a 'walk down memory lane' for the Boomer Scouter.My favorite Scouter loved the book.
This is an interesting selection of stories and articles reprinted from Boys' Life magazine. Directly reprinted, as in replicas of the original pages, including all the original ads. I bought it as a gift for my husband, who's been involved with the Boy Scouts for most of his life.I actually used to read the magazine myself when I was in grade school and when my son was subscribing. I didn't think the editors' choice of material necessarily represented the "best" the magazine had to offer, although they did explain why they made the choices they did. I was hoping to see reprints of some of the Time Machine stories I liked so much, but other than one paragraph included on a page showcasing something else, they weren't there.But my husband loved his present and that's the important part!
I bought this for my grandson as a Christmas gift last year. I looked through it before wrapping it and had an instant throw back to my younger years. Well written, interesting, informative, and a little history and Americana
Great time machine for those of us that remember the 50's and early 60's.A much simpler and stright forward time.Print WAY to small to read with any success.Other wise great fun.Rich
An excellent revisiting of the articles we enjoyed a Boy Scouts so may years ago. So many of the tips are still revelent today
