Very good update to the Bible of Coin collecting...No one who's a serious coin collector should do without, especially if you're bidding on eBay. You'll see how overpriced coins can be on eBay, and how rare they really are.....
I like that weight and diameter are probided for all coins.I would like to see in the next edition clear distingush between coins in official circulations and commemorative (non-circulating) coin.
I had not invested in these in years, so it was good to get a 21st century book. However, I never have liked the way they put so called 'collector coins', or NCLT (non circulating legal tender), in with coins that actually circulate. I never have collected those!
Whether or not you are a collector, trader or just interested, World Coins is a necessary resource. You simply can't get along without it.
I'm a beginner coin collector and needed a book to tell me as much information about foreign coins as the Red Book does about American coins. This is NOT that book! I have yet to find one single coin that I looked up. It has a lot of information and pictures of obscure coins that I've never heard or seen of and never will. I wanted a book to help me with identifying the value as well as identifying common foreign coins such as the Chinese Panda, the Canadian Maple Leaf, and the Australian Koala. NONE of these coins are to be found anywhere in this book! Useless!
That`s not true!My home-country Austria got the wrong description below the map: Commonwealth of AUSTRALIA (no, we have no cangaroos!)
