I was introduced to this children's program about ten years ago. It is highly engaging, even pre-schoolers learn to sit quietly and truly listen and respond to the stories.Find an experienced teacher trained in your community and visit them to see for yourself...this program changed my life and offers a truly meaningful experience for children. I've also used it with adults who have memory loss.If you'd like your children to know God, not just know about God, this is the program for you.
Godly Play materials tend to be clear, consistent in approach, and easy to use. This volume is no exception. We're excited about using the lesson on the books of the Bible, and will use the visual for that lesson with all our presentations from now on, so kids will know where in the Bible a particular story can be found.
For anyone who wants to use the Godly Play program in their church, the way the stories are presented and the way the storyteller is guided in the telling of the stories makes this and the other volumes a must.
This curriculum is awesome. I adapted it for our Wednesday Evening Lenten services and invited the whole congregation to wonder about the stories. It gave new life to familiar stories and opened up great conversation. So grateful for this resource!
I have used Godly Play with grade 4-6 SRE class and they are in awe. Each time I use it. Not every week. Once or twice a term. I did the advent & Christmas over 3 weeks adding extra each week. The final week the 6th grade applauded. This surprised me.
These books contain the amazing Old Testament stories written by Jerome Berryman told Montessoti style. They are wonderful for children and adults.
I found this very useful in my work with young children. I would order it again and would recomend it to others.
