I wanted something that would first help me identify coins from unfamiliar or no longer existing countries. Also wanted way to figure out how to estimate a Colin's worth. This guide fell short on both accounts. It was an interesting historical guide to familiar coinage and gave good ideas on how to preserve coins so it is not completely without value.
I got this for an 8 year old, and it is probably too advanced for her. But it did help identify coins she had collected so that was a plus. It is nice to have it in one place rather than try to search the web for each coin.
This is another book that I ordered for a ten year old who has become very interested in coin collecting. He is not a good reader but the clear pictures and good writing are just what he wanted.
Yeah sure this book fits in your pocket but it has nothing current in it and it does not have every year. It skips years of coins that the book doesn't consider worth money. It is inaccurate and completly pointless. Go elsewhere for your book needs.
Not enough information or different types of coins available in this book. I could not find the coins I was searching for. They were common coins too.
Nice Short Fat Book easy to read, large images. Fits good in your hand. Not a long read but nice to take on short trips when you know you'll have 10-20 minute increments of time to burn.
