What do you really expect from a coin catalog issued yearly? It should be up to date. Is it difficult to obtain up to date information on coins these days? Sometimes it is but most mints/banks are more than happy to provide you with all the necessary data most of which is readily available on the Internet anyway. Apparently, the editors of the latest edition of SCofWC have not discovered the Internet yet because the 2017 edition fails miserably. France? Up to 2014. India? 2012. Luxembourg? Early 2014. Mexico? 2014. Poland? Circulating issues - 2012, commemoratives - 2014. Who cares, anyway. Polish Mint (listed in the acknowledgments) did not bother to provide data? Did you ask? Russia? 2014. Singapore? 2013. Tunisia? 2011 (well, there is one coin from 2013). Ukraine? 2013. United States? 2016 but if you are interested in US coins you have better and more specific catalogs anyway. On average this catalog qualifies as 2014 edition but it is a complete failure when posing as 2017 edition.If you have 2015 or 2016 issue just don't buy this one. It is clearly a rip off.
Alot of the New Issue Coins are NOT listed in the new 2017 Book. Coins that have been issed in the 2013 2014 2015 are still not listed in this 2017 Book??? It's very hard to use the book to list coins that you have in your collection that were minted in say 2013-2015 and they are not listed. I THOUGHT I WAS BUYING A UP TO DATE BOOK THAT WOULD AT LEAST LIST COINS MINTED IN THE 2013-2015 YEARS???? As an example... Kazakhstan the 50-Tenge series stop with the 2014 issues, wouldn't you think a 2017 book would list at least have 2015-2016 issues, also under the 50-Tenge coins it list 2011 dated coins then skips to 2014??? I have coins dated 2012, 2013 What happened???? For a Book not up to date I don't know why they would charge Full Price> Alot of countries stop with 2012 dated coins example South Korea.
Not at all what I expected. Does not give a complete value of coins. Very misleading
