i picked one of these up because i was looking to get some more information on an error note i found in circulation. the book was published late 2008, and the note was series 2006. i had hoped the error would have made it into this, the 3rd edition, but unfortunately it did not. i guess i will have to wait until the 4th edition hits the shelves.otherwise, the book is quite interesting. it's very descriptive and contains a lot of information about seemingly every documented error in the history of small-sized notes (thru series 2003 anyways). the pictures are not in color, but i expected that for a $10 paperback. i'm not sure how accurate the pricing guides are currently, but they seem to be in the ballpark with asking prices i'm seeing on ebay.i can see this book being essential for an error collector. i'm not an error collector, but it's still a good addition to my coin and currency guides.
Paper Money Errors provides great photographs and explanations as well as values of the errors that occur during the printing of U S currency. This guide even provides reference charts listing known serial numbers or currency catalog numbers for certain types of errors. Paper Money Errors is a very thorough and comprehensive guide in an easy to read and understand format. A great reference guide for for all levels of currency collectors.
I had one and found a page with a bill I had that is worth 1500 dollars. I was so happy that I left it at the Veterans Hospital so others could share their values with others if they had a bill that was listed by Dr. Bart.
If you are looking for a book filled with illustarations that are super clear on currency errors, you have found it. Came in perfect shape.
I am an amateur collector. I have a note that has an error that was easily found in Paper Money Errors. The remainder of the book is quite interesting and informative. I can only attest to the accuracy of the section on my error...It has a picture of my exact type of inking error (can't get much more accurate than that).
