This is a surprisingly well written and informative book that is helping me re-learn all things about databases and modeling. I've found it surprisingly insightful and entertaining which is hard for educational books. However, this book has kept my attention through most of the sections that are normally relatively boring.
i used this book during two quarters at college for a database class. The teacher reallly didnt teach from it and when she did, i noticed the textbook gave general SQL that didn't correspond to MS SQL Server or MySQL. There's an accompanying website that's free to access..
This book is full of SQL and database knowledge, but it simply has WAY too many irrelevent information. It tries to setup scenarios so you can apply the knowledge, but they are many pages long and one after another. I only bought this book because it was required for my database systems class, but I almost never use it. There is simply way better information free on the internet.
Book is exactly as described as and for te price it is I can't be any happier. Also it helps to ruse material for the environment!
