Some great information in the book with explanations for commands but it's organized in a strange fashion. You can read through the book and learn things about splunk but it's difficult to go to a specific idea or topic. Information is organized in a "recipe" format. So you basically have a bunch of examples of how to do things but this would not really work out to well as a reference to find information quickly.
