I don't get this. Too many wordless graphic dream sequences. A child is sick in the hospital and overcomes his fear through an African dream "finder", an idea given to him by an African nurse. His finder turns out to be a lion, but whether it actually helps him or just gives him the strength to carry on is debatable. He's kind of scary and I don't get the ending or the point of the story really. Seems like it would be pretty terrifying for kids who would actually need the comfort of a book when in the hospital. Not impressed.
A really beautiful book! Excellent story with magnificent illustrations. The story has a great and lovely message which can be easily interpreted and enjoyed by children and adults. After hearing the story, my first and second graders were scouring the schoolyard for the perfect stone.
