I highly recommend this book as an introduction/training guide to SmartView. I used this in place of an "official" Oracle education course. Choice was to pay $1700 + travel costs or $30 for the book. Even though the expense was approved, I decided to try the book first and keep Oracle as an option. My company probably will not appreciate my efforts at cost cutting however :) The book was pretty good with instruction on all the key functionality of SmartView. Make sure your system admin loads the Sample Basic database as all the examples in the book utilize this database. Easy to follow and if you use the Sample Basic examples, you know instantly if you've done it right or not.
