I'm told that this book is one of the first ever issued that connects GIS and public health, and therefore is probably due some slack. The issue I have is the lack of connection between the tutorials and assignments. The tutorials are written in a step-by-stepmanner and very easy to follow but the connection between them and the assignments is not clear. I'm often left needinghelp with the assignments despite following through and understanding the tutorials. Not sure how to make it better but I amnot the only one in class that is having this problem.

Was assigned this book for class. In short, it eliminated the need for my professor. The book walks you through step-by-step for using ArcMAP. Any questions the book does not answer can be easily found on the ESRI FAQs or Google.

This book helped me to learn the basics of GIS. I had zero experience but this book really helps walk you through the features of arcGIS.
