From setting up the Echo to using it seamlessly, this book will teach you everything you need to know about the Echo in an hour (or less, if you're a fast reader!).The Echo is a cool piece of technology from that acts as a personal assistant. You can ask it what the weather is, to tell you a joke, to set alarms/timers, or to even play music (and much much more).This book is so comprehensive about all the cool things that the Echo can do, it should have been included in the box along with the Echo! The authors even include troubleshooting tips.I recommend this book to anyone who is even considering purchasing the Echo. You cannot go wrong with this book. It's written in an easy, straightforward manner and is catered toward those of us who are not technophiles.
What I love about Tom and Jenna Edward's books is that they allow me keep up with current technology AND give me insight into whether or not a product is right for me; all for a the investment of at most, a couple of bucks.I'd been hearing things about the new Echo, and at first couldn't even figure out what it was, let alone what it does! I was excited to see the Echo User guide, because I knew it would not only satisfy my curiosity, but help me to know if the Echo would be a wise purchase for me. This is especially important to me, because I'm on a fixed income with a limited tech budget.Unlike some tech guides on the e-book market, the Echo User Guide is written in plain English, in a conversational style that makes it seem as if the authors are in the room with you, walking you through the Echo's features and capabilities. Set-up directions are presented step by step and with helpful graphics.. Each feature is explored in a similar manner, delivering on the book's promise to take you from Newbie to Expert in an hour.Best of all is the section where Tom and Jenna explore the future and potential of the Echo. Too many new electronics, in the long run, turn out to have a limited useful life. With the prices of modern technology, a buyer wants to be reassured that their investment is justified. The Edwards provide their educated opinion not only how the Echo will stand up to the competition, but exciting new features and compatibilities that are coming down the pike.I definitely recommend The Echo User Guide to both new owners an those on the fence about buying this exciting new product!
Helped get acquainted, but the echo has evolved to the point that much of the info no longer is accurate.
As a long time Echo user this book told me little I didn't already know. It did however remind me of a few things that I had I forgotten about. It explains a few things more clearly than the original tutorials. A good example is the use of the IFTTT app. I never could figure that one out. Until now.Thank you Tom and Jenna for another simple insight to a complicated world.
Amazing book on how to use your echo. I do not personally own the book nor have I used it. It was bought as a Christmas gift along with the echo. I flipped through it.. It is very detailed on how to do just about everything. I'd recommend this if you buy an echo.
The explanation and narrative are okay. The price is reasonable. Not really sure we needed this for our uses which, so far, are minimal. We did buy the Echo for the potential of future upgrades which we hope will include multiple shopping and to-do lists. Of course this Guide cannot include items that haven't been put into use yet. So, it's not fair to ding the Guide for that. The Guide did spend some time on discussing the App. We are not into using Apps unless we have to so......Nothing wrong with the Guide, just not something we really needed for our Echo use.
I knew a lot of this or could look it up but just to have it there and structured was a big help getting started with this project. I guess this helped to not put the cart before the horse as I was a little anxious to get Alexa up and running as fast as possible. Having a guide to follow insured I would not skip an essential step during setup
Loved this book, learned all that I needed to know about my great ECHO! Best purchase that I have ever made. The ECHO not the book. This manual explains everything in detail and I am very comfortable with my Echo now.
