The detail is amazing, so the reader can choose to read the simple or more complex information. My kids really like this one. We saw it first on the reading rainbow app, but having a hard copy has been very worth it.
I work with middle schoolers who love this book. They learn the facts about digestion and their bodies, are eager for the new vocabulary and love the quirky artwork. The kids range in learning capacities but everyone is drawn to this book. It is a great motivator for reading, even though some words are unfamiliar, for example, esophagus or epiglottis. I would like more books like this to show my students.
While very factual this one was still fun. We were studying digestion for Health and enjoyed this book. I read the factual parts and my 8 year old the cartoon parts. It went through the complete digestion system along with some information on what can go wrong. I would recommend it for grades 1-3rd.
Yes, this is a must buy. Really great book, funny, good illustrations. A hit with my 7 year old, one we read several times and will read again in the future
