Jaime Baker is a wonderful teacher, her directions leave you very clear about what it takes to produce a professional looking product. Being a horse lover for all my life, I was able to reproduce some of my favorite horses using her instructions.Hats off to Jaime for making her expensive and hard to find original book into a product that is affordable and easy to use on your own computer! Beginners to experienced pastel users can benefit from her guidelines.This, the first of the three that makes up the whole book, has the beginning purchasing of the pastels and equipment that you will need to work with. It has repairing of flaws, and re-sculpting. If you skip toward the middle you will come across the basic cleaning up of a plastic horse, this is where you will see how removing the excess ridges that occur in the putting together of the parts of the mold will improve the appearance of the horse when finished.
I have been a huge fan of the author's work for a while, but the first edition of her how-to book was hard to come by - nobody seemed to want to give their copy up! So I was delighted when this reference was rereleased in several parts in digital format. This is an amazing resource for anyone wanting to create quality model horse art!! Clear instructions, useful photos and illustrations, recommendations as to supplies and equipment and so much more!
