The material is good. Would be 5 stars if it was proofed better. I came from only having an introductory course in Angular and LOVE the style this book is written in: Small, working examples.If you need to learn Angular, get this book. Its clear demonstration by example. There is no 'getting lost in the details' S the author stays on track, which keeps me on track. This will be a good reference to keep on hand as well. If you're an MVC, or specifically, a dot.Net MVC developer, you'll probably appreciate Angular and how well its explained here. A few typos aside, I learned Angular.Js with this book.
Istvan does a great job of building up knowledge of Angular JS in very appropriate stages. He starts with the basics and has you create a primitive diving log application and then has you progressively improving the application while connecting that back to important concepts. It is a well written book and I'd recommend it to anyone trying to learn Angular JS.
This is a very good book. The author recommends that you download the code, but the link in the Kindle Book has changed using the TinyURL dot com shortener. The link on TinyURL [actual link masked by ] is unravelingAngular15He advised me that the delay in updating the link is on 's end. There is a 4 to 6-week' approval cycle for changes.Update: As I work through the book, I'm finding the example code is explained well and runs correctly. I am adding this comment because many reviewers have focused on imperfect English grammar. If you want to learn, you must do the exercises. Novak doesn't fool around, this isn't a book for the fainthearted. He will use a word like "decrypt" where I would have used "understand" and, "you extended the territory" where I would have said "scope." His wording is very precise and it makes one think, just because it is stated a little differently.
My Bible for Angular JS!! I'm a newbie to Angular JS with a decent knowledge on basics of Web Development like (HTML5, CSS3, JS, Jquery, PHP, Bootstrap etc., ) and Istvan explains Angular JS like he's lived with it. I'm moving very very slowly with this book understanding every line of code and what it does internally to the ng engine, he's written it really well like I don't even have to use Google to understand a concept well. Hats off to you man. Am a fan of this guy, bought his other books too. I'd recommend this book for anyone who wants to learn Angluar JS.PS. Why bible? I was struggling to find a best resource to improve my web dev skills with Angular JS and I found this to be the Gem out of all resources out there. Trust me, this book will definitely teach you ng from scratch.
An excellent book- great for beginners. It's a steal for the price, especially in comparison to similar AngularJS listings on . I very much like the way the material is broken down, bit by bit, very efficiently. Should have gotten this earlier!
Wow, this is awesome. Great in depth material. HIGHLY recommend if you're using 1.5 or < 2.0. Just bought and read several AngularJS books and NONE of them come close to this book. This guy stepped up and hit a walk off home run! Thanks and keep 'em coming.
Terrific book. The explanations are clear and straightforward, avoiding the usual unnecessary techo-babble.The author goes into quite a bit of detail on directives and backs up everything with clear examples. Highly recommended.
Worked through the first half of this book in about a week and it got me up to speed enough that I could start contributing to a large angular stack at my work.Pros:Fast pacedAssumes some prior knowledgeWorking examplesKindle version (through kindle browser app) is well formattedCons:Awkward sentence structure in some placesWhen manually typing exercises, it is sometimes unclear where an edit belongsFocus on pretty output (via bootstrap) distracts from core messageOverall, this is a great resource!!! Much better than the popular AngularJS video series for many reasons not the least of which are Istvan's thorough and methodical explanations.
