For any serious collector, you have to have one of these, and the glossy color photos have excited my Grandson, a new collector. shipped it to my house instead of to him, but the catalog itself is excellent

I'm an absolute beginning to collecting, and my focus is mainly on design and history. I needed a book that would give me an easy way to survey the landscape/history of US stamps, and for my needs it need to be high quality reproductions of the stamps. This book has that: the images are extremely high quality, color corrected and it seems like most stamps are presented at their real sizes, which I think really matters a lot in getting the feel for them.What I would really like to find is a book that does the same thing, but that gives some background history for each series - this is the kind of thing you usually see with books on paper money or coins, and I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble finding the same thing for stamps. I'd love to hear the circumstances that went into the design decisions, information about the designers or engravers, and other interesting tidbits about the stamps. This book doesn't have that - instead, just pricing (which is great to have of course).I guess the best endorsement is that it has increased my enthusiasm for learning and collecting stamps.
As a novice stamp collector this is a must have book. When I start a hobby I go all out and this book has proven to be an exhaustive resource for US stamp collecting; from stamp hobby introductory topics to current stamp values to stamp identification it covers all the bases. Highly recommended!
This is a very nice Stamp Catalog, however the package was damaged in 3 places. It took 3 weeks to arrive in Massachusetts from Maryland. Both the post Office & DHL apologized for such terrible service and the damage as about 20 pages in the front of the book were creased and bent. promised a Credit but nothing has been done, no credit on my account since they promised it 2 days ago on the 25th of January.
I was looking for something to help me figure out what my stamp collection might be worth. Understand that they prices they list are way above what a person selling could get but it still lets you know if a stamp is worth something or not. I was pleasantly surprised that it included Canada and other protectorates. The spiral binding is great - layout is great - table of contents is great. I'm pleased with this purchase.
The Stamp Catalog was a gift for my father. 's price and delivery were good but when the book arrived the binding was damaged. It appears as if the the book wasn't cushioned very well in the box that it came in allowing it to be jostled about during delivery. The damage could have occurred before the book was package3d but someone would have seen the broken spline and hopefully sent one that did not have a problem. Still, my father did not mind the damage and was happy to receive the book.
The best catalog for the money. I buy one every year. I give the one-year old catalog to my grandson as it remain like new it so well put together. A great alternative to the more expensive catalogs that provide not much more information.
