Some 16,000 value changes are recorded in Vol. 1 of the 2014 Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue, which contains the United States, United Nations and countries of the world, A-B. U.S. market activity remains relatively flat, with a few spectacular increases. One of those impressive increases is the 3¢ 1869 Locomotive stamp printed on both sides, the reverse impression inverted, Scott 114e, which jumps from $55,000 used in 2013 to $100,000. There are also substantial gains in Austria for never-hinged sets from the classic period. Overall, there were more than 3,500 value changes in Austria. Other Volume 1 countries with significant value changes include Antigua, Argentina, Australian States and Barbados.

This is a great book, but if you're just US specific, no need to have this one and the Specialized book. The Scott Specialized Catalogue of US Stamps & Covers is pure gold.
I didn't realize it included world only limited world stamps. Useful as it is, I would have preferred only US stamps. I should read the ads more carefully.
I would have given this book 4 stars , but there was a huge rip on the front cover. The cover was taped on in a sloppy manner. The pages in the early part of the book were separated from the spine, and the book it self smells like smoke... Like it came from a smoking area. For 34.00 i paid for the book,I felt that this book should have been in much better shape. I will reconsider the next time I purchase from this company. They should have disclosed more detail on the condition of the book.
I buy one new volume a year.  still listing 2014 at same price as now available 2016. CRAZY! Won't buy the next edition of this volume until 2019 if I'm still around (I'll be 85 then)
Book arrived in as described condition...the purchase though seemed a little on the pricey side
