I have been collecting stamps for many years now and wanted to purchase a book for two young kids I know to get them started - I can not tell you in this brief review how great this book is - it has excellent information and large color pictures of various stamps including one blue stamp from the US Columbus series - if you want to learn yourself and are just starting out or want to give as a gift this is a very well done and colorful book ! I would give it ten stars if I could !
This book is well-written and decently researched. It doesn't "dumb down" the subject for kids, it's written clearly and directly, and is decently illustrated. Recommended.
Janet Klug, a well known philatelic author who is very active in the philatelic community, has written a book you definitely want to have in your collection of philatelic literature. I read this book for cover to cover, and enjoyed every page.
My grandmother left me some old stamps that I really wanted to dig into and find their worth. I love this and this is/was very helpful.
