This book is packed with ready to use information on SS7. Eversince I got hold of this book, I have used it on numerous occasions in my work. Though I bought it mainly for SS7, I found the chapters on network synchronization and timing truly revealing. Very few telecom engineers are aware of the significance of timing in telecom networks. I do not know of any text that treats this subject so convincingly. In conclusion, a great work.
If you need to know about the ISDN, network syncronisation and non-advanced SS7 this book is the best. It is a shame though that the book does not cover SS7 user parts such as SCCP,TCAP and due to date of publication does not have BISUP, Etc. The book is extremely well written.
This is a book of great value to all those whowish to gain insight in international telecomnetworks. More and more telecom companiesare looking for business globally in the wake ofderegulation in the telecom sector. By providingdetailed information on international standards, theauthor addresses this important need. Countries in the Asia-Pacific generally follow ITU_Tstandards. These along with European andAmerican standards help provide the much neededglobal view
I obtained this book about 2 weeks back and I am deeply impressed by the concise and lucid treatment of the subject matter. The book covers the nuts and bolts of modern telecom networks. I am nor aware of any other book in the market that provides both theoretical and practical insights on network synchronization, SS 7 and ISDN. This is certainly a valuable contribution to the body of existing literature and should prove useful to both students and practising engineers. The author haslaid stress on standardization. Indeed in this era of liberalisation where telecom companies are looking for markets worldwide, an in-depth discussion on North-American, European and International standards in one place is immensely useful. In short, a unique text providing valuable information
Here is a book of great merit on three important aspects of digital telecom networks. The author has explainedthe basic concepts in a lucid and concise manner and related them with remarkable success to practical aspects. Thus, the book is avaluable work of reference both for the students and practioners in telecommunications. The choice of the subjects is unique and I have not come across any other book that recognizes andtackles network synchronization, SS 7 and ISDN in a unified manner. The book considers the North American, European and International standards. It is therefore useful to readers worldover. I feel that this a valuable addition to the body of literature in this important area
