I felt cheated when I discovered there weren't 131 different recipes, but several sizes of each one. That isn't quite kosher, and I will be wary of buying anything from this author. Plus, I recognized several of the recipes, as they were already in my collection from online recipe sites. These weren't given credit. No, although the recipes were quite good, and easy to follow and I did like the fact they were broken down into different sizes, I do not believe this was quite ethical. Hopefully, this was just an oversight. "
We've quite enjoyed this cookbook. We're finally getting some use out of the bread maker we got at our wedding. The recipes in this book are much better than ones that came with the bread machine. We especially enjoyed the English muffin recipe and the cinnamon raisin bread. Even the basic bread was better than store-bought. We can't wait to try more of them!
I’ve always wanted to make homemade bread, but didn’t bother trying until I received a bread machine for Christmas. This book is a great companion to anyone who has a bread machine and would love to try new and different breads for their family. Store-bought bread often contains a lot of unnecessary ingredients and preservatives that the only way to know exactly what you and your family are putting into their bodies is to make your own.This collection is broken down into several categories, including: Traditional Yeast Breads (my favorite!), Sweet or Savory Breads, Rolls, Buns, etc., Pizza Crusts, Whole Grain Breads, Sourdough Breads, and Quick Recipes (another favorite). Then each of the over 130 recipes are linked from the table of contents, so there’s no paging through to find the recipe you’re looking for. I’ve tried a couple so far and have been really happy with how they’ve turned out. Plus, the house smells like a bakery! There are a lot of standard breads that you’ve probably heard of, but there are a lot of unique and tasty-sounding recipes that are new to me, but I’m keen to try.If you love baking, I highly recommend this collection. I’ve really enjoyed it.
I received a bread machine as a gift a few weeks back and I must admit I wasn't overly excited by this proposition...at first lol. I decided to try it out a couple days ago and I was amazed at how good the bread tasted. And that my friends is what lead me to this great bread recipe book with oh so many interesting recipes that seem endless for a formerly basic bread kinda guy. Cinnamon Oatmeal Raisin, Strawberry Rhubarb and Apricot Almond are all here and so many other choices. I can't wait to try some of these delicious sounding (& I'm sure tasting too) recipes.
I have an Oster CKSTBRTW20 Bread Maker (LOVE it). So far, I have made the recipes for Honey Grain, Sandwich, and Cheddar Cheese Bread. All of them turned out great! I'm looking forward to trying the Caramelized Onion Loaf as well as the Asiago Tomato Bread. More baking days ahead...Update - March 12, 2015: made the Caramelized Onion Loaf and it was so good! Even better with a smear of butter!
I just got a bread machine for me and wanted more recipes than the few that come with the book. This one is great for that. It gives me a lot of variety and we can enjoy a different bread every time I go into the kitchen. I don't think I have made the same bread twice. Because we live in a cold weather state, I make a lot of soup and nothing goes better with soup than hot bread.
This book is a great buy! I must confess that I purchased a bread maker several months ago on impulse and it has been sitting in an unopened box. After looking over several recipes in this book, I am excited to give it a try. The author makes the recipes easy to follow and gives several options depending on what size bread you’d like to make.
This book has lots of receipes and easy to follow instructions. My one complaint is the amount of liquid to use is so variable. I realize that the amount necessary can vary a little but when I use other receipes from other books they are more precise and the dough seems to turn out a bit better. I do think this book is worth a space inyour library.
