I used to see my grandma quilt, but I never was interested in it. It looked boring and mind-numbing, so why engage in the activity? At some point I decided give it a try, because my grandma kept telling me that it was fun and that it was something for me (very strange, but whatever). I picked up this book in the hope that it could give me enough reasons to start quilting. And to be honest, the first chapters didn’t really convince me, but when I kept reading the author was able to convince me to start quilting. I gave it a try and it was a lot of fun! Now, my wife is continuously telling me to stop quilting as it takes too much of my time.
I have to agree with the author that "every quilt is unique, so is the quilter". This book is an excellent guide for beginners. It contains proven steps and strategies on how to make your first quilt and provides the bases for learning the basics of quilting. This book is very informative and easy to understand. This is the best tool you can use in learning how to quilt. I would recommend this book to everyone who loves to learn new things.
This is an awesome book for those people who are looking for a new hobby or are trying to learn a new craft or maybe just looking for something to do during your idle time. The book has the detailed process on how to make a quilt. The book's topic were arrange in an organized manner. You are taught first with the basic things that you need to know about quilting up to the step by step process on how to make a quilt. What I like about this book is how it describes the different kinds of styles of quilting. I never thought that there were lot of styles because when we made this in high school, it seems like we only did the very basic design. This is really a cool craft to learn. I love it!
This book is an amazing collection of different techniques on how to start quilting quickly. There is a decent amount of information you need to know before you start quilting, but this book is a wonderful guide for doing just that. It also covers the history of quilting and a wide variety of different types of quilting you can choose from. It really comes down to personal preference. I like certain patterns better than others and this book was pivotal in me figuring out which ones I liked best and how to use them.
My girlfriend recently picked up quilting and I wanted to give her a little surprise. But I gave it a read first and am impressed at how detailed this book is. Sure, it doesn’t tickle my fancy in the same way, but I am glad to have a little more knowledge about it, as my she seems to really enjoy her new hobby. It helped me to understand a lot more by having pictures inside. I feel like most books do not include pictures, so I appreciate that aspect of this book. My girlfriend made a nice pillow case for me, a small manageable step, and her next goal is to make a small blanket for our dog. This will help to solidify her foundation, I believe.
This book contains proven steps & strategies on how to make your own quilt and provides the bases for learning the basics of quilting. What I like in this book was that it also includes the description of errors that quilters might make and their easy solutions are recommended. It will help aid in evading the mistakes and learn from the experience of other quilters. This guide book will definitely help me avoid most of the usual beginner’s mistakes. It is very helpful.
I think that quilting is such a beautiful and relaxing hobby, growing up I learned how to sew and cross-stitch and it really brought out the creative side in me. I like this book because it really helps beginners learn the basics, after reading this book I have a lot more respect for it. It may seem very hard but the book has very easy instructions, it really opens you creative side and think about the possibilities. The patterns this book has are very gorgeous, so I highly recommend this book.
Reading this book and being interested in quilting, made me realized thatinstead of purchasing a ready made item at the store that I can give my friends and my family members a gift to show my creativity, my hard work, heart, and soul, I can just use all my quilting prowess and make them some. I need to learn about the different ways on how I can quilt to make gifts and give-away and of course, an heirloom that will be cherished. And what is great about this book is its contents.
