What I love about Tom and Jenna's user guides is their plain language. You don't have to be a techno-geek to read and get useful information from this series of books.I only became aware of the new Fire 7, $49 version of the Kindle Fire a few days ago, and serendipitously, saw the "All New Fire 7 User Guide almost immediately afterward. With the holidays coming up, and a Fire available now that makes gift giving the device possible for me, I wanted to know more about it. Having bought and read Tom and Jenna's other books, I immediately downloaded this new volume.This e-book user Guide has it all. A profile of the new Fire 7, and what makes it different from the Fire HDX series starts the volume. New features are detailed, and best of all, step by step instructions are provided to save you all the frustration of getting a new device to work fresh out of the box. The Guide also gives a plain language breakdown of what the two Cloud Storage options are (vital to know and understand both to own or gift a Kindle Fire), where to find apps, how to download content from ; where to find free e-books via some of the online archives/libraries and much much more.Not only is the book written in an understandable non-tech language, but you'll feel as though you are talking to the Edwards' directly. We use our Kindles off line a lot and have no help support when in the mountains away from wifi. This book is great for all the questions we have. This is our 3rd instructional book from Tom and Jenna. Thanks to you guys, my 80 something husband can do all kinds of fun activities with his new Kindle Fire.
If you purchased a Fire 7" , this is the book that gives you the info needed to make the most of your tablet. Straight talk with no tech words that can't be understood. Easy to understand for those of us who are not techies. This is not a "paid" review. I purchased a Fire 7 in mid-November and without this guide, I'd be lost. Very well written and I'd recommend it for my family and friends.
I will keep this short, simple, and to the point: if you are even considering buying the new tablet from , you must get this book. With directions and tips that are concise, simple, and written in plain English instead of techo-babble that only a genius would understand, you need this book. As I plan on getting this tablet for my elderly mother for the holidays, giving her a copy of this easy to understand book will ensure that I get peace of mind and she will get the satisfaction of being able to handle "tech" on her own.
As I had an original Fire, when I purchased the current (5th Gen) Fire I figured I knew how to get the most out of it. I was wrong. This book was through and concise with useful and easily understood tips. Wish I had bought it the time I purchased my Fire.
While this answers many Questions, I t doesn't answer the one thing I need most. How do I save my photo files to the expanded memory I bought?While the authors say I can send an e-mail to them , I wrote to ask how to find the firefly app the book says is in my fire tablet and this has gone unanswered forseveral weeks. To me that just makes rthis one of many mediocre books on this same subject.
This really is a comprehensive essential guide. I read it and marked so many pages for reference!! I bought my sister the Kindle Fire 7 Tablet for a gift. I have a much older original Kindle Fire reader. So I ordered this to help us Both learn to take advantage of all the settings, apps, and uses in this Tablet. This guide is so easy to understand and makes setting up a new Fire 7 a breeze. It has a great trouble shooting guide. It walks the user through setting up their Wi-Fi internet connection, e-mail, and removing books from the device. This guide will be useful not just at set up but for reference down the road for sure. I highly recommend it.
This "Newbie to Expert in 2 hours" claim is misleading. If a user has no experience with Kindles this guide may be a good start but its only the basics of how to use the new Kindle Fire. Its vague when it comes to making you an "expert" on the features especially with the interfacing sections with file transfer between PC and the Fire. After reading this guide cover-to-cover I felt cheated and had to go to other FREE sources / forums to get many still unanswered questions.
