My 7 year old daughter loves these books - they are chapter books but still have pictures. I love them because, unlike Junie B. Jones (another young reader series), Cam Jansen is not disrespectful and has a lot of good values to emulate.
My daughter loved it! I remember reading the Cam Jansen mysteries as a child, but the original series is still a little bit advanced for her to read. This is a wonderful introduction to Cam Jansen for the little ones!
This book, although it is written for young kids and teens than adults, is a very good detective and mystery book. I enjoyed reading it. I think the idea that a girl with a photographic memory goes around solving mysteries is great. This book is perfect for kids who want to read a mystery novel.
I was very happy to receive the copies of Cam Jansen andthe Valentine Baby Mystery. My second graders loved readingthis book. Cam Jansen is a good readable book for childrenjust beginning to read chapter books. They love to try tofigure out what is going to happen next!
Imagine that you are at school and your mother is about to give birth to a baby. In this book Cam Jansen has to solve a mystery while her mother is in the delivery room. This book is part of a fiction series by David A. Adler. In this series Cam Jansen uses her amazing photographic memory to solve mysteries and catch the culprit. She uses help from her friend Eric Shelton. I've read about 20 Cam Jansen books. I'm writing about this one because it is my favorite.Cam is excited about getting a baby sister. When her mom goes to the hospital Mrs. Shelton's purse is stolen. When she is talking to the nurse at the desk a doctor with no name tag walks by. So Cam has to track down the thief and get back to her mother in time to see her sister. My favorite characters are Cam because Cam has an awesome memory and she can focus really well. With the help of her photographic memory she can solve any case. I also like Eric because he is funny and knows a lot about mysteries. In a different book when they were trying to find their aunt's purse, Eric knew a lot about pick-pocketers.I liked this book because it has a baby in it and it has pictures of the babies. The babies are really cute. In the end Cam got to meet her baby sister but she still has a surprise. Read the book to find out what the surprise was.Sara R.
I love Cam books. My 7y/o grandaughter introduced me to her a few years ago. We always read Cam books together. The newest is our absolute favorite.I am a retired OB nurse and some of the mystery happenings actually occured where I worked. Some of the terms such as maternity were out of date.Birth Center is the most current term in our area. This is a book I would highly recomend to any other Cam fan or anyone expecting a new sibling.A great book to suggest in a Sibling Class.5 STARS all the way :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY DAUGHTER FELL IN LOVE WITH CAM JANSEN SERIES.MY FAMILY PICK UP A COPY WHENEVER THEY GO TO A BK STORE FOR HER.THIS ENCOURAGES HER TO READ TOO.WE HAVE DONE SCHOOL PROJECTS WITH THESE BOOKS.I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING WHAT CAM IS UP TO IN THE NEW BOOK.I WILL CONTINUE TO GET THESE BOOKS FOR MY DAUGHTER.SHE GOES TO THE 5TH GRADE IN SEPT.THE SERIES IS GREAT FOR EVERYONE.
My 1st grader is in love with this series. They are hard enough to give her a challenge but easy enough to read that she does not get frustrated at all. It is fun to have a mystery in each book!
