One of the most thoroughly interesting and entertaining cultural histories I've had the pleasure of reading. The author's unique academic and professional experience (historian, physicist, jewelry designer) offer a smart yet accessible perspective, and he's also very witty. History through the lens of jewelry? Yes, please. A fabulous and fun read, highly recommended!

This book allows you to gain more understanding on gemstones and its identification. This book also expound on the uses of these stones and discover many of its kind. They can be used in enhancing spirituality and meditation, collection, or for fashion.

I found the book simplistic and just like any other gem identification book. It was nice to know the meaning of the stones in the scripture but the answers were not Biblical./ Nice to have but unnecessarySharon

Wasn't exactly what i wanted. Couldn't find the gems i was,looking for.

First of all, it needs to have a good proofreading. Sentences appear where they don't belong and its hard to follow. What information there is is ok, but don't waste your time or money.
