This poster book collection is a treasure trove for film-lovers. Mr. Bruce Hershenson has produced a series of superb movie poster books that are meticulously produced. This edition specifically focuses on Crime Movie Posters. The book is 80 pages long and measures 10.8 inch by 8.5 inches long. It includes striking images which were photographed directly from the originals & was printed using the finest technology available. This baby is indeed a great treat for those who truly appreciate how glorious these posters are. This edition includes 376 images of original Crime movie posters, rare lobby cards, window cards, inserts, and even some very rare Foreign posters. The book utilizes strict chronological order which spans the years from 1913 all the way up to 1996. I especially love this edition because it displays the evolution of Crime Movie posters and explores the various subgenres including film noir, Hitchcock, Charlie Chan, etc. From the front cover which is a reproduction of the 1942 noir THIS GUN FOR HIRE, to the back cover, which is a 1921 film OUTSIDE THE LAW, which is very rare, each and every page is filled with eye-popping images. Some of my favorites include a 1930 window card of LITTLE CAESAR, a 1931 lobby card of THE PUBLIC ENEMY, 2 lobby cards of 1932's I AM A FUGITIVE FROM A CHAIN GANG, and an excellent 1938 lobby card of ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES. As we reach the golden age of film noir, there are reproductions of such favorites as THE KILLERS(1946), DARK PASSAGE(1947), OUT OF THE PAST(1947), THEY LIVE BY NIGHT(1949), NIGHT AND THE CITY(1950), GUN CRAZY(1950), D.O.A.(1950), THE NARROW MARGAIN(1952), NIGHT OF THE HUNTER(1955), and TOUCH OF EVIL(1958).
