I wanted to learn the process of borrowing books on my new Kindle Fire HD, but when I looked for "lending library" to find out which books were available, this book and a few similar ones were offered. Since there was a clear indication that this particular book could be borrowed, I borrowed it -- thinking that it would be like a manual and elucidate things that were unclear as I navigated my new Kindle. The joke was on me -- I learned that I can borrow ONE BOOK PER MONTH!! And this was my ONE BOOK! That's a ridiculous restriction (I probably read 5-8 books/month or more) in any case, but it was especially galling that I'd searched for information on borrowing something, still didn't find information on which books can be borrowed, and that I'd blown it for the month by getting this fluffy guide that really didn't tell me anything substantial.
It really did not tell anything that I thought it should have. It was basically a recap of everything that was on the website to begin with. I studied the Kindle very well before I bought it. There is a little booklet that comes with the Kindle.
This is pretty good for someone just getting started on Kindle as I was. It probably would have been more helpful if the instructions were more specific to each type of Kindle. This is more of a reference book rather than a How To book. Reliance on ebook information is at your own risk as cautioned in the disclaimer.
While some features of Prime are very good, the Lending Library is absolutely NOT. When looking for books on the lending library, I often have to go through several screens of available books until I find one that qualifies for Prime. This is an outstanding waste of time.What needs to do is set a filter in the lending library that displays only books that qualify for Prime. That way, the user can browse available books instead of browsing, and browsing, and browsing, ad nauseum.I doubt that will do this, though, because it would take away from sales of KindleUnlimited subscriptions. This is very unfortunate.
Thought it would be helpful but all the info is easily available on - was of no use whatsoever. I can never find good books in prime lending library. Thought this might have some search hints but absolutely nothing. Total waste
