This is a book of (mostly) movie posters advertising science fiction movies. The monster genre of the 1950s is heavily represented, but there is a good selection of movies from the silent era up to the end of the 80s. The big ones are well-represented, Metropolis, ET, Forbidden Planet, etc. for some movies you can see US posters compared with those from other countries, and the different choices of illustration and style are interesting.There is no explanatory text, and no index, but posters are arranged in machine alphabetical order (all movies beginning with "the" are together), so it won't be too hard to look for a specific movie. A few items are not movie posters--I remember one book cover, one postcard, and one that appears to be a poster for a movie-based attraction at Disneyland, but all are appropriate.Scan quality of vertical (portrait mode) posters is good, and these don't get fuzzy till I zoom in on them with my iPad. Posters in horizontal (landscape) orientation are at a lower resolution, and don't hold up well even to having the iPad rotated to give them the chance to fill the screen.I got it for a 99 cent deal, and am very well-satisfied. You could probably seek out most of these on the Internet, but the time, dealing with different scan resolutions, and convenience of the book make it a better way to go.
