Although the Kindle Touch appears a simple device to use, I strongly recommend you get this book before you buy one. It will prevent all the anxiety associated with the set-up and ensure the learning phase is painless. Sadly I didn't take my own advice but with it I am now making good progreaa.In 156 pages this book provides all you need to know and more with its eight chapters moving logically from getting to know your Kindle Touch, reading, accessing content, putting on your documents to accessories, advanced reading issues, experimental features, troubleshooting and helpful tips. It has an extensive index which make searching for help easy. Some of this help only applies to users in the US. For instance these lucky people using the Kindle web browser can access experimental projects and presumably interact with the developers.I am a fan of single function equipment and suspect most people will use the Kindle touch for reading with only occasional forays into its other uses. They will need to consult this book frequently. It also provides sufficient information for those who plan to use the more esoteric functions on a regular basis. You all will no longer be 'dummies'.
I HAD OCCASION TO HAVE TO GO TO MY BOOK FOR HELP THIS PAST WEEKEND. MY KINDLE WOULD NOT TURN ON. I WAS DEVESTATED, THINKING MY KINDLE WAS GONE. A FRIEND OF MINE AND I WENT THROUGH THE BOOK AND FOUND THE HELP LINE AND CALLED IT AND WITH JUST THE SINGLE CALL WAS ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND NOW, THANKS TO THE BOOK MY KINDLE IS BACK ON LINE!
