I became familiar with this book at a local store. After physically examining and reviewing it, I decided I would check it out online for price comparison. I was pleasantly surprised when I found it on for half the price! This is a very cool compendium of gig posters from all over the world. I am tempted to buy the other volume (I have volume 2). The poster micro-perforations allow removal of your favorites to frame/hang on the wall. Very Satisfied. As usual, the buying experience was smooth.

I read some reviews that were complaining about the paper stock used, but I don't have any issue with it. It's a mid-heavy weight paper with a matte finish. Great for framing so there is no extra glare from a glossy finish. I got this and volume 1 to use for decorating a bedroom shared by two teen boys. They went to a concert at a local venue and loved all the artwork from past show posters. There are some pretty obscure bands. Only a couple mainstream, but they didn't mind. The art is really cool to look at. I would recommend cutting the pages out with an exacto or box cutter even though the pages are perforated, I feel like they would rip.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my dad. After paging through it, I decided that I needed to buy a copy for myself. Highly recommended.

This book has a great assortment of "gig" posters, ranging in different music genre's from the year 2000+after.It gives a description of each artist+has 1 poster out of every 7 that is perforated+can be framed. There is actually 700 posters in this book! This book is a music lovers dream, well worth the price! A+++++

Great compendium of alt rock posters done by accomplished graphic artists. Posters detach cleanly from book to hang nicely framed or not thanks to nice thick paper. Recommend highly as a great, inexpensive gift for a teen who has eclectic alternative rock tastes and wide interests. I was a hero when I showed up with this as a present for Christmas last year!

This massive book showcases some of the most creative artwork of the past couple of decades...all created to promote local concerts. Gig posters have become quite a collector's item recently, with very limited print runs. Thanks to the internet and books such as Gig Posters Volume 2, fans all over the world can enjoy and admire this artwork.Clay Hayes is the owner of gigposters.com, a community that showcases what seems to be an infinite collection. The owner of this book, however, can do more than just look at pictures. There are 101 ready-to-frame posters featured here, measuring 11×14, each perforated and ready to be ripped out and hung on your bedroom wall, from Queens of the Stone Age to Slayer to John Mellencamp to The Black Keys. While the main attraction of this book is the collection of reprinted posters, there are also insights and interviews with the artists that created them. Hayes reveals the artists' beginnings and influences, preferred media and impressions of the poster community. Gig Posters Volume 2 is a great book for fans of music and art.

Gig Posters Volume 2, by Clay Hayes, takes 101 of the best posters from gigposters.com, and compiles them in a stunning visual array, that I think would look great in either home or office. In this case, each genuinely frame-ready poster is offered by a different designer, with a mini portfolio and interview on the back. You can look up all of your favorite bands, from the past 20 years or so, or just pull the most visually compelling. Some are simply lovely illustrations with lush colors, like the art nouveau-inspired Kings of Leon poster of an old truck, or the Black Keys' neo-surrealist poster of a Southern belle waiting impatiently on a sunken boat, encircled by alligators. Others take a retro illustrative look, like Death Cab for Cutie cat-and-birds combo, or Norah Jones' cute, Peanuts-inspired poster, while still more are stark, but with a touch of whimsy, like Her Space Holiday's thoughtful, visual description of their name.
