This book is a real gem! Split into three parts which could each stand alone, its part history, part aromatherapy jouranl and part craft. It begins with a whimsical and eloquent journey through the history of perfume,from the sages of Eygpt and orgies of Ancient Rome through to Marilyn and her penchant for only Chanel No.5 between her skin and her sheets. From here begins a laymans introduction to the practise of aromatherapy, with a basic synopsis on many essential oils, their properties and benefits- most interesting and enlightening. The final part of the book is very much a craft book, with numerous projects on making bath oils and creams, scented paper and gifts, from the quirky- like the mandarin scented twigs to the basic like the lemon scented soap balls. Its all very luscious and delicious, with sleek beautiful photography- a must for anyone who is interested in perfumes, aromatherapy and gorgeous things for the homw- suitable for so many people from your 12 year old niece to your granny!
