I am an IT professional who likes to have a book to read and refer to. In an age of digital copies it is sometimes nice to have a book to highlight and mark pages. This is a good sized book for portability. The topics are covered well and offers step by step instruction as well as detailed descriptions of what you are doing.

Although this is not the best Windows Server 2012 R2 book, it offers enough important information to readers, which is all I need. I can then do further research on the topics I am interested in. Since I am already familiar with Windows Server, I don't really don't need to get a thick book to show me how to do a step-by-step process. I recommend this book.

Stanek is an excellent writer who knows Windows and shares what he knows liberally with his readers. This detailed, informative book takes readers through the essentials

Like many IT workers, I pick a book up and go right to the index to look for my topic to answer a specific question. I have used this book for a couple of months now, and found reasonable information to answer my questions - or at least, clues for further research. So, today, I look for information on setting up printers in W2012R2, and find ... NOTHING. Not a paragraph, or even a sentence. NOTHING. Inexcusable. I'm looking for another book after finishing this review, as don't want to find out what other omissions this book has when I desperately need some info. I've read other books by Stanek, but he's obviously coasting now on his past laurels, sorry to say.
