This book is an excellent guide to using a kindle. For new users an experienced as well the authors have logically and concisely laid out the pertinent information necessary to do almost all of the things your kindle fire HD can do. They give adequate warning about dangerous or harmful activities and still explain how to do them correctly and more safely. Read it and save time.
This book really did teach me all I needed to know about my new Fire HD and all in simple language even I could understand. It has made my learning process stress free and exciting. I highly recommend this book if you want an effortless lesson on how to navigate your Kindle Fire. Thank you Jordan Pittman.
Anything that makes life a little easier is worth the small investment in this book. I've been working with my Kindle for a few weeks and had already found several of the suggestions here, but there were four or five that were new to me, so I was happy with the time and money spent.
I was happy to read all of the facts and instructions this book gave me also it was very clear for it a beginner to understand and follow very helpful words that a person with or without computer skills could understand. It is worth the buy .
It is too bad you cannot review less than one star. This is the worse collection of advertising pamphlets bundled together and called a book. This book lists many wonderful things that can be done on the Fire 8, with near zero instructions "how to". The photos and illustrations are frequently from older kindles (example showing the power button, USB port and headphone jack at the bottom, when in fact everything is at the top). I read this cover to cover and only one thing of any value and that by accident. The kindle has a user guide on the machine. To access it, go to the home screen and sweep down from the top, you will get a pull down menu. Select "help", the second option is "User guide". Save your money and use the User Guide, I wish I had.
This book isn't a masterpiece, but it's all I was looking for to pick up some quick tips and understand what this thing could do. I was a little intimidated at first because of the features; I just wanted a simple e-reader. I began using it for a few books, but wanted to learn about some other features that may be useful. This manual did just that. There could be more depth to it, but it pointed me in the right direction to get more utility out of my device. Recommended for your non-techy users and casual users looking to get a better understanding of the features.
Overall, this guide is terrific for someone who may be more of a casual user, but is also valuable to those who want a more in-depth explanation on features they already are familiar with. It essentially acts as a fully-fleshed out user manual (which the Kindle Fire HD lacks out of the box). Plus, the price is so good, how could you resist having a reference guide this handy?
Overall this guide was is a solid introduction to the Kindle Fire HD. The guide goes over all the basics of the device and allows newbies such as myself to gain a quick understanding of some of the features. This manual was good for me because this was my first tablet device, so the touch-pad and all the new (wireless) features were a bit foreign to me. Overall a solid companion for my shiny new device.
